I don’t have to tell you how insane it is to get in line at 4:30 a.m. for a Black Friday Sale at K-Mart, JCPenny, Wal-Mart, or any store for that matter. It’s now getting to the point where you may be risking your life to save bucks at the mall on the busiest shopping day of the year. Black Friday Gun Defense may be a good idea after the chaos this year.
There was a man in San Antonio who was punched in the face by another man cutting line at South Park Mall. The man just happened to be a concealed permit holder who was carrying at the time of the incident. After being punched in the face, the man pulled his weapon to defend himself. This obviously caused everyone to run for cover, especially the jerk who started the whole incident. The bully ran and hid behind a refrigerator, then bolted for the door.
We all know that shopping and packing don’t usually go together. It stands to reason that when you pack people in to a store like sardines, tempers will eventually win out. I could see myself waiting early in the morning to get in Best Buy for a Play-Station on sale, only to find that the person in front of me bought the last one. Now, I may not take any sort of stupid action, like trying to steal the Play-Station from the guy while walking to his car. That certainly doesn’t mean other people wouldn’t.
This story goes to prove something we’ve tried to get across from the beginning. You just never know when someone will snap. Everyone on this planet has their tipping point. That moment in time when reality begins to fade, and sheer anger rules all thought and feeling. This is that time when normal people eventually snap out of it and calm down. There are people however, that cross the line and stay there. These are the people that we have to be on the lookout for. When you get involved in a “rat race” at the shopping center, you are definitely putting yourself in to a possible confrontation with a total stranger. So you have to ask yourself, is the savings worth the risk? We think not.
